Meet Jon McAteer, UKCP registered psychotherapist in Winchester.

I am the founder of McAteer Psychotherapy. I trained in psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute, which has provided high quality training in psychological therapies for over 30 years.

During training, and since qualifying in 2011, I have worked in a number of interesting and challenging settings including local community psychological services, GP surgeries and with private clients. In addition to providing personal therapy I have also developed and run anger management groups for men.

Qualifications & Accreditations

I have an MSc in Integrative psychotherapy and a graduate diploma in psychology. I am a registered member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) which is the no.1 organisation for the accreditation and regulation of psychotherapists in the UK. I am also a member of Metonia Institute, one of the UK's first organisations to offer humanistically orientated professional training programs.

As part of my ongoing professional development I have trained in EMDR, an innovative and effective treatment for trauma.
